POLICE CHANGES

Police Commissioner Mathew Iteere Tuesday made changes affecting several senior police officers.

48 senior police officers have been transferred from their current work stations to new ones in the changes that take effect immediately.

The new postings have seen Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police Pius Barasa who moves from the National Defense College(NDC) is now the Deputy Officer in Charge(OC) of the Central Firearms Bureau.

Julius Kanampiu also from NDC is the Deputy Director Logistics Police Headquarters. Benard M'juri from CID Headquarters has been seconded to Nairobi City Council.

North Eastern Provincial Criminal Investigations Officer (PCIO) Scaver Mbogho has been transferred to Central in the same capacity.

Daniel Kebenei from OC ACU Police Headquarters to KPC Kiganjo and appointed DS Junior Training Wing.

Assistant Commissioners of Police affected include Deputy Director Community Policing, Henry Ondiek who moves to Kenya Railway Police. Gabriel Mbuvi PCIO Kenya Airport Police moves to BFIU and appointed Deputy In-Charge.

Joseph Angasa PCIO Railway has been transferred to Kenya Airport Police in the same capacity while deputy PCIO Nyanza John Maritim has been elevated to PCIO North Eastern.

Kenneth Okal from East Africa Standby Brigade has been taken to GSU Headquarters and appointed ACP (Personnel).

The reshuffle comes only hours after the Internal Security Minister George Saitoti inaugurated a committee to oversee police reforms based on the recommendations of Justice Philip Ranlsey task force that recommended major changes in the police force.
