RUTO SAYS NO

Agriculture Minister William Ruto who was speaking at Wilson airport said he will not step down saying the PM had no authority to sack him.

Ruto who had just arrived at the airport from Samburu where he earlier held a rally said " nothing has been confirmed to me. The Prime Minister should not be the last person to trivialize the fight against graft by introducing partisan politics".

William Ruto says the war against graft should not be personalised.

Ruto said instead institutions vested with powers to fight the vice should be strengthened to ensure exhaustive and professional investigation.

The Eldoret North MP said politics, finger-pointing, rumours and blanket condemnation of suspects should not be entertained.

He claimed some politicians were using corruption scandals to settle scores with their political enemies, especially as the 2012 General Election approaches.
