President Kibaki condoles Karume family

President Kibaki eulogized the late Hon. Karume as an astute businessman and an exemplary Kenyan
President Mwai Kibaki Sunday visited the home of former defense Minister and Kiambaa MP Njenga Karume in Cianda, Kiambu County to pray and condole with the bereaved family.

Mourning the departed former minister, President Kibaki eulogized the late Hon. Karume as an astute businessman and an exemplary Kenyan who built a business and political empire through sheer hard work and determination.

The Head of State in his condolence message to the bereaved family thanked God for the great moments he shared with a fine gentleman and political ally that Hon. Karume was to him and his family, political associates and followers.

President Kibaki prayed to God to give the late Hon. Karume's family, friends and admirers the strength and fortitude to bear the great loss.

Burial date
Meanwhile, the late Njenga Karume's funeral committee has fixed next Saturday the 3rd of March as his burial date. The former Ministers' remains will be interred at his Cianda home.
Karume who died at the age of 83 was an active member of the tribal Gikuyu, Embu, Meru Association (GEMA). He is the former Kiambaa Member of Parliament.
Prominent personalities among them political and religious leaders alike continue streaming into the home of the veteran politician who passed away on Friday morning at a Nairobi hospital to express their condolences to the family.
Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth and his Saboti counterpart Eugene Wamalwa were among those who visited the home on Sunday to offer their condolences.
